Tracy and Yosemite National Park

Friday, Aug 24

Arrived at Dave and Nettie Foos’ Monday evening and planned for some rest and relaxation. We’ve been eating GREAT and resting well.

After quick planning, we decided to go to Yosemite for the day Tuesday. We took off early and arrived at the park nearly lunch time. Loved the beautiful scenery! We took an open air tour of the canyon floor; it was spectacular! We took over 100 pictures of all the wonderful scenery, so deciding what to post is a tough decision.

We were fascinated by the description of the climbing of El Capitan Mountain. It’s 3000 ft above the canyon floor, and takes climbers from several days to accomplish. It is nearly VERTICAL! We saw some climbers on the face, but it was hard to see in the pictures.

Wednesday was a resting day; we washed some of the grime from the burb, and mostly rested.

Headed North Thursday. Drove by Clear Lake. Very pretty area. Made it to Willits for the night.

Friday we begin the trips through the redwoods!
